Heat-shrink tubing
Question Answer Explanation

I am using a Pro series LabelStation to print on heat-shrink tubing and I have fitted the plastic guides to centre the tubing. Why does the red error light illuminate persistently? [tippy title="Calibrate the Gap Sensor."]

  • To re-calibrate the sensitivity of the Gap sensor in your LabelStation 342, do the following:
  • Switch the printer off and fit blank labels.
  • Press the Pause button and, while keeping it pressed, switch the printer back on.
  • Release the button when the label stock begins to advance. Calibration is complete when two green LEDs are illuminated. If the printer begins to print “dump” information afterwards, switch it off (you don’t need this).

Ensure that LabelDirect is set to ‘Continuous’ (as opposed to ‘Gap’).

Note that heat-shrink tubing does not pass under the Gap Sensor when the plastic guides are used, making sensor recalibration necessary.
I am using a Pro series printer with narrow heat-shrink tube and I cannot centre the tubing because the label guides don’t come close enough together.  How can I remedy this? Fit the [tippy title="heat-shrink tube guides"]tube-guides-loose[/tippy] (Tube guides loose.jpg), order code: Q-LSTGUIDE.
