| How can I stop the “Found New Hardware” wizard activating even though the correct printer driver is already installed? | Connect the printer to the USB socket by which it was installed. | When you install your printer the driver dedicates itself to the physical USB socket to which the printer is connected at the time. For this reason, plugging the printer into a different USB socket at a later time activates the ‘Found New Hardware’ wizard. If the wizard is followed it will install another driver with the same name but suffix it ‘Copy 1’. This does no harm but your design software will subsequently need to be directed to the appropriate driver. | ||
