Both methods of printing use heat to imprint the label. Thermal Transfer works by melting the wax coating on a ribbon. Direct Thermal requires no ribbon because the label is impregnated with ink which becomes visible when heated. |

Why does my printer slow down or stall while printing, and the PWR (power) LED dim or go out? | If the power adaptor is known to be working properly, apparent power failure can be caused by the [tippy title="ribbon spindles"] [/tippy] being fitted the wrong way, causing them to bind against the lid.
Try printing with the lid open and see if fault goes away. |
