Print Quality Problems
Question Answer Explanation

The print quality of my labels is blotchy and inconsistent.  Why? You have the print head temperature set too high for the ribbon you are using.  See how to change this setting.
I am using a LabelStation 342:  How can I stop the printer producing blank or poor quality labels? Ensure that your label stock is not past its shelf life or of a poor quality generic brand.
Why are my labels faint and patchy? 1)  Your ribbon and label stock are incompatible.  You may need to change your ribbon to a different type, e.g. from Industrial to General Purpose.  Visit our Labelstation Ribbon page for more details.2)  You may need to raise your print temperature/density setting within LabelView/LabelDirect

3) Your label stock is contaminated, possibly by handling.

4) The print head might need cleaning.  This should be done with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) but White Spirit is very effective. Use a soft, lint free cloth or untreated tissue paper.
